Nintendo released the Winter Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons a few weeks ago. As a result, the Toy Day event will arrive in the game later this month. The update also locked upcoming holidays and events beyond real-world times to stop time travelers from experiencing these events early.
The most recent example of this was the Turkey Day event for Thanksgiving at the end of November. The winter update added the event to the game, but players could not access it until the actual date of the event. While unlocking Turkey Day worked fine for the majority of players; unfortunately, some could not participate in the event and missed out on meeting Franklin.
