For those of you who possess a Nintendo Switch, the next couple of months are going to be festive. The promised second summer update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes out today and it looks exciting. According to Nintendo, the two big gameplay additions are the ability to dream and new fireworks shows. Meanwhile, for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, a cloud backup system is also incoming, so you won’t lose a single update on your island.
Animal Crossing is a game that is loved by everyone. I mean, I did not have a hard time explaining the concept to my mother. So much so, that I haven’t been able to get my hands on the console for days now.

“While dozing off, you may find yourself in a strange realm where you’ll be greeted by Luna,” the company explains. “Luna offers visits to other islands as a dream, and with her help, you can share your island as a dream with others too. She will grant those who share their island a ‘Dream Address’ which players can exchange and use to visit each other’s island in a dream.
“In dreams, nothing is permanent because nothing you do is saved, so explore to your heart’s content.”
You dream even when you aren’t really dreaming. Who would’ve thought this would be possible?
You will have to change one small thing, though. For those who haven’t, you will need to upgrade your tents to a home to be able to use the dream feature. Shouldn’t be much of a problem.
Customize your firework patterns
This is what gives the update a festive touch. The fireworks will be a regular occurrence, taking place every evening in August, at 7:00 pm local time. Players will be able to buy raffle tickets during these events to earn prizes. And that’s not all, you can even use custom design patterns to create firework displays. Each time you look up in the sky, it will be your unique creation. Can it get any better?
