Novak Djokovic is in the form of his life. At the moment, the Serbian tennis star is on a 21 match winning streak. In fact, he looks practically undefeatable with players still unable to figure out his Achilles heel.
However, there was one player who supposedly had the number of Novak Djokovic. We are talking about one of America’s finest tennis players – Andy Roddick. In fact, Andy is one of the few players who hold a positive win-loss record against Novak Djokovic. Roddick is 5-4 up against Djokovic with their last encounter being at London Olympics 2012.
Now, Roddick has tweeted to reveal the secret behind a good performance against Djokovic. Let’s find out what it is.

What did Andy Roddick say about Novak Djokovic?
Roddick was asked a question by a fan past Djokovic’s victory in the finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships. This is what the fan asked –
“Pls can you open “how to how h2h lead against Djokovic” class? “
Andy Roddick gave an answer that pretty much spells out Djokovic domination in the current era-
“Sure. Retire before you have to play him again.”
To be honest, Novak was not the beast that he is today back when he was playing Andy Roddick. Contrast that to his win-loss against his compatriots in the Big 3. He leads Federer 27-23 and Nadal 29-26.
Against Roddick, Novak played eight encounters on hard courts while one match was played on grass.

Talking about grand slam face-offs, the two have clashed twice. Djokovic won at US Open 2008 while Roddick was the victor at Australian Open 2009.
Coming back to the present, Novak completely decimated his competition in Dubai. Not to say that there were no hiccups. Frenchman Gael Monfils almost beat Djokovic in the semi finals, with the Serb saving three match points to come back and miraculously win the amazingly close encounter. Meanwhile, Djokovic’s closest competitor Rafael Nadal has been equally impressive at Acapulco.
