For professional athletes, injuries often affect physical strength. However, for the 2 time Olympic Gold medallist, it played out as a wake-up call.
“I actually got on that machine that measures your body fat, and it wasn’t good,” Andy confirmed.
With growing age, it is common that players lose the agility they once owned. But, Great Britain’s hero won’t hang the racket so easily. All he was required to do was to push himself a little. He said, “It was something as simple as that, where I was like ‘come on Andy—you just need to get back.’”
“I’d been working fairly hard, but I could have done much better. I could have been eating healthier and sleeping better. I was like ‘come on’.”
Looking at his enthusiasm, we are sure some great tennis will grace the court in Melbourne Park.
“Give myself the best chance”: Murray
After his best season in 2016, the British player hit a deep slump and has not recovered since. Between 2017 and 2020, he could only win 2 ATP titles – Dubai in 2017, and Antwerp in 2019. Although out of touch for a while, Andy is certain to deliver some great action Down Under.
