A large number of MMA fans would have enjoyed the comeback of the famed UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan, to the UFC 287 table. ‘The noted podcaster’ goes through a rather hectic schedule which compels him to opt out of the UFC events happening outside the US. Understandably, a lot of fans might have missed ‘the former martial artist’s’ voice in the London-based UFC 286.

Along with his return to the commentary table, lately, Rogan also came up with a new episode of his coveted podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’. For this episode, Rogan was joined by the known comedian-writer, Sam Tallent. The duo talked about a variety of topics. Tallent revealed his experiences of training in wrestling which interested Rogan to know further about him. Amid all this, ‘The Podcaster’ also revealed a shocking piece of trivia related to the world of jiu-jitsu.

Despite both being noted comedians, a large part of the discussion between the duo was about martial arts. After starting off with discussions about a few other martial arts, Rogan enquired about whether Tallent had ever been into jiu-jitsu or not. ‘The JRE guest’ stated that he had refrained from jiu-jitsu since he always had the opinion that it was a pretty violent form of martial arts.

He stated, “I don’t have that bloodlust”. But, Rogan attempted to clarify his confusion, stating that jiu-jitsu was never a bloody sport. However, he also revealed that the chances of sustaining injuries in jiu-jitsu were pretty high. He also described an incident where a jiu-jitsu coach had to go through a lawsuit even after causing an unintentional but severe injury to one of his students.

Rogan described, “This guy who is a jiu-jitsu coach, I think it happened in California, and he did like a forward roll with a guy to take his back and the guy’s neck got caught in a bad situation and he snapped his neck”.

A healthy chunk of fans might agree with ‘The JRE host’ on this.

Both Joe Rogan and Sam Tallent had played football and wrestled but in different ways

Prior to this discussion about jiu-jitsu, the duo also spoke about the sports they had been into. Tallent revealed how he played football and wrestling and came up as a complementary sport in order to develop his footballing skills. However, things were quite the opposite for Rogan.
