InnerSloth‘s Among Us has been one of the most successful games in 2020. The game reached its peak viewership in September and has been facing a substantial decline in the numbers since then. The biggest reason for this decline is the increasing number of hackers in the game. Players can not even report such toxic players/cheaters, and that worsens the situation.
However, with an upcoming update, the developers are introducing a lot of new features to tackle the hackers in their game.

As for now, Among Us does not have accounts. As a result, players miss out on a lot of important features. The upcoming update will most probably release in early December, and the game will finally have accounts. As a result, players can add their close friends separately and also report any toxic player they come across.

Recently, Among Us faced severe problems because some hackers were spamming the private lobbies with support messages for President Donald Trump. The developers had rolled out a quick update to solve the issue, but rushing these anti-hacks caused some bugs in the game. The upcoming update will also take care of these bugs.
“Firstly, we want to be sure to talk about the cheating and hacking going on. It was pretty bad there for a bit, so Forte pushed out server changes really fast. They seemed to help a lot, but some cheats still work and now there are bugs too. There will be more server updates to fix all of this, but rushing anti-hacks is what caused the bugs, so cleaning things up is a slower process. Also rest assured that any threats made in the game are false and your devices and data are safe. If you see a hacker, ban them or find a different room.”
Some other changes in the game meta

To spice things up a little, the game will have an ‘Anonymous Voting’ option and new ‘Task Bar Modes’ following the update. If players opt for ‘Anonymous Voting’ option, all the votes will appear as gray in meeting. The new Task Bar Modes will have three options, normal, only visible in meeting, and invisible entirely.
Apart from these meta changes, a new map will also make its way to the game. As per the developers, “We’re hard at work on a new map (It’s Henry Stickmin themed!). This map is currently looking bigger than Polus! The map will contain plenty of new tasks and will be available for free to all players!”
