Gabrielle Union loves a good throwback. So when an Instagram page posted pictures from her regular day on the job in the early ’00s, she had to show it off to her followers. But it’s the co-star in her post that raised a few brows. These pictures go back to when Gabrielle Union, before Dwyane Wade, shared the screen with Jamie Foxx for the first time. However, this comes at a time when Foxx is embroiled in a serious controversy.
Jamie Foxx caused a stir by sharing something on social media carrying antisemitic implications. He has since worked on fixing it. But is his old friend and colleague, Gabrielle Union, expressing solidarity during this controversy?

An Instagram page dedicated to famous black women hit us with nostalgia with their latest post. The pictures reveal a young Gabrielle Union in the signature style of the early ’00s – low-rise faded jeans, bold top, and highlights and waves. But it’s timeless beauty fans love. Union reposted the same post on her Instagram stories to relive that moment too.
However, some are reading a little too much into it. Because the other person in the picture is Jamie Foxx. He was subjected to harsh criticism for an antisemitic post recently and some wonder if the post is a show of support for her friend.
These pictures are from 2004 when Union and Foxx co-starred in the romcom, Breakin’ All The Rules.
They were doing the promotion rounds together and appeared on the cult-popular MTV show, TRL. The leading pair took a few snaps backstage which were shared in this post.

Union and Foxx would reunite for the 2017 thriller, Sleepless. They’ve shown a friendship on social media beyond that of colleagues.
This, however, was about Gabrielle Union and not Jamie Foxx. She looked fabulous almost 20 years ago and still does. But Foxx has recently been under fire for entirely different reasons.
Jamie Foxx angered social media recently
Academy Award-winner, Jamie Foxx was dealing with an undisclosed health scare for months this year. He was reportedly in “critical” condition for a while. He would announce his return with a video on social media and earn the love of several of his famous friends.
Dwyane Wade’s wife, Gabrielle Union was among the likes of Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan to celebrate his return.
Mere weeks after that emotional comeback, Foxx has upset social media users everywhere. He had previously made a post that read, “They killed this dude named Jesus… What do you think they’ll do to you???!” The post contained hashtags #fakefriends and #fakelove.

According to Foxx, the post was aimed at an ex-friend who betrayed him. But the statement had heavy antisemitic connotations. It has since been deleted.
Foxx has since apologized for the statement in another post. “I want to apologize to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by my post. I now know my choice of words has caused offense and I’m sorry. That was never my intent,” his statement read.

Several famous friends have voiced their support for Foxx under the apology statement. Union has not commented on the matter. Her story with Foxx was merely appreciating the throwback.
