Italian tennis player Matteo Berrettini has been making quick progress on the tennis circuit. In recent years, he has emerged as a strong threat to the top guys on Tour. After seeing him in recent events, one can say he is a versatile player and can adapt to the various surfaces on Tour.

On the personal front, Matteo Berrettini has been in a relationship with Australian tennis player Ajla Tomljanovic. The pair began dating in October 2019 and have been together since then. They are often seen spending quality time on tours and have been spotted practicing with each other.

Ajla Tomljanovic has European roots

Tomljanovic is a well-established player and has achieved a career-high ranking of No. 39. She was born in Zagreb in Croatia. The 28-year-old player made it to the fourth round of the French Open in 2014. It happens to be her best Grand Slam result to date. In January 2018, she received Australian citizenship.

Before dating Matteo Berrettini, Ajla Tomljanovic was in a relationship with fellow Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios. The pair competed in several doubles matches together during their time together but called it quits on their relationship in July 2017.

Matteo Berrettini was unhappy with the bubble in Australia

At the Australian Open this year, players were forced to live in a bubble. However, Matteo and Ajla couldn’t meet each other during those two weeks, despite living in the same hotel because, upon arriving in Australia, it was mandatory to undergo the 14-day quarantine period.

At the moment, both Matteo and Ajla are going strong in their careers and are at the Wimbledon Championships 2021. They have sailed through their initial couple of rounds and are scheduled to play their third match tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how far these talented athletes can go at South West 19, London.
