With his emphatic win at UFC 285, Jon Jones has set the stage for another battle of the greats. After securing the title in his heavyweight debut, Jones made it clear he wanted a go at the consensus GOAT of the 265 lbs division, Stipe Miocic. Miocic had already confirmed that he would fight the winner of Jones vs. Gane in July. Now, that match is all but confirmed.

Recently, the former heavyweight champion appeared on ‘The MMA Hour’ with Ariel Helwani and addressed the potential Jon Jones fight. The 40-year-old had some bold claims about the outcome of the fight, but the fans did not share his conviction.

During his octagon interview at UFC 285, Jon Jones called out Miocic for his next bout. Following UFC 285, Miocic talked to Helwani and envisioned how the fight would go.

A confident Stipe Miocic said, “I will win. There’s no question. I know that [he’s never lost]. It sucks that he’s going to lose.”

However, fans disagreed with the 40-year-old about his bold claim and sense of confidence.

Under an Instagram post highlighting a clip from the interview, fans went to town on the former heavyweight champion. While Miocic has a respectable resume, many fans believe that his best days are behind him. Some others think that despite Miocic being arguably the greatest heavyweight in UFC history, Jones is levels above him as a martial artist.

Miocic has beaten Daniel Cormier twice as Jones has. He is also one of the few in the UFC who have beaten the destructive Francis Ngannou.
