The third round saw the best of Greg Hardy as he came out sprinting towards Volkov looking for a finish. Although he landed a good combination, Volkov survived the final fury Hardy had to offer. After that sequence it was all Volkov who used his experience and fought a very calculated fight, winning the fight via unanimous decision.

This was a much-needed loss for Greg Hardy who has never fought a ranked opponent before. Considering he broke his right hand very early in the fight and still managed to hang around with ranked 7 heavyweights in UFC proves he is not that bad after all when it comes to fighting inside the octagon. He is making significant improvements with every fight and it would be exciting to see what’s next for him. On the other hand, although Volkov has won this fight he is still 2 more wins away from a possible title shot.
