Saudi Arabia has emerged as one of the hottest leagues in the past few months. Teams across the league have splurged massive cash during the summer transfer window to sign some of the biggest European stars. Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli made a big signing this summer as they roped in former Liverpool star Roberto Firmino on a free transfer. However, it seems like the team isn’t happy with how things have panned out. Al Ahli was reportedly looking to sign Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski as his replacement and could test the Catalan side in January.
Firmino made an instant impact for Al-Ahli, following his move to the club with a hattrick. However, he has failed to deliver on the set benchmark, struggling to deliver for the team. With the Brazilian failing to live up to the hype, Al Ahli has turned their attention to Lewandowski, but luring him to Saudi Arabia could be a tough job.

Barcelona, on the other hand, will closely monitor the situation. The side would love to retain Lewandowski’s services, however, a lot of that will depend on his form. While the team has the option to trigger an additional year to his deal, the Spanish side could also cash in on the player during his final year with the club.
