Skateboarding enjoys a good share of mainstream attention in today’s times. However, this wasn’t the case three decades ago. Tony Hawk worked hard and brought skateboarding into the spotlight and increased its value to its current standard. While Hawk has now retired, he is still a giant influence in the skateboarding community and the world. Hawk is famous for his shredding skills, videos, and tutorials. According to a recent update, Hawk has joined hands with another “shredding partner.”
Tony Hawk has recently entered a contract with an information security company, “Shred-it.” The company chose to partner with Hawk since he is also a great “shredder” and a successful entrepreneur. However, Hawk had to climb over a giant mountain to pull himself out of his days of poverty to become a successful entrepreneur.

Hawk collected love and cheers for his work—however, very little of that positive attention translated into dollar bills. Hawk had to undertake several odd jobs to make ends meet. But today, Hawk is one of the most successful and stable businessmen. Speaking about his partnership with Hawk, CEO White said, “We are thrilled to partner our Shred-it brand with Tony’s brand.” Shred-it has signed a two-year deal with Tony Hawk and his brand Skatepark Project. Shred-it makes paper shredders, which they claim are efficient and leave no chance of leaking information. They support an important cause and advocate for personal privacy. The company insists that only concerned stakeholders should access information. Their main value is to maintain privacy and prevent security leaks from incomplete document destruction.
Calling Tony Hawk the Godfather of skateboarding would be an understatement. Hawk picked up skating for the first time at the age of nine. He became a professional when he turned 14. The 12-time vert-skater of the year later transitioned to the board and only excelled further. Embarking on a new partnership with Hawk, the CEO of Shred-it, Cory White, said that he and Hawk are top-tier professional shredders. This deal marks another milestone in the financial career of Hawk, who had once revealed that there was a time when he couldn’t even afford to pay the water bill with the money he made.
The crests and troughs of financial success
Tony Hawk has lifted himself from a very perilous time. He engaged himself in several odd jobs and fulfilled several requests to make money in his early 20s. Hawk describes that period as a harsh time in his life. Hawk didn’t let any job request pass by and capitalized on whatever he got. Speaking at an interview with Andrew Huberman at the Huberman Lab Podcast, Hawk revealed that he had fallen prey to several bad investments.

He mentioned being in his twenties and feeling less fulfilled by skateboarding as he had transitioned out of his teenage years. Despite achieving significant financial success initially, his monetary gains dwindled as he faced age-related diminished demand. Compounded by ill-advised investments, Tony Hawk experienced further depletion of his finances. With the arrival of his first child in 1992, Hawk channeled his dedication, seriousness, and financial acumen into his endeavors. Presently, Hawk’s net worth exceeds $140 million, showing no indications of slowing down.
