Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan is well known for his mystery spin. However, he made headlines with his outstanding fielding skill in the third and final Twenty20 International game against West Indies on Sunday at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

The incident took place in the third ball of the 8th over when Evin Lewis skied the pull a slower one from Karim Janat towards the leg-side where Rashid Khan was fielding. Initially, he went to take the high catch at deep mid-wicket but soon he realized that it might become a maximum because of the momentum. Instantly with a brilliant presence of mind, he ran after it, grabbed and threw it back inside the boundary line all in one motion. With this spectacular fielding, he saved 2 runs for his side as well.

Earlier in the game, Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first. Although they lost their in-form opener Hazratullah Zazai for a four-ball duck, wicket-keeper batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz played a quickfire 52-ball 79 with 6 boundaries and 5 sixes.

Apart from him, Asghar Afghan, Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Nabi reached the double-figure as they scored 24, 14 and 15 respectively and put up a decent competitive total of 156 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Sheldon Cottrell, Kesrick Williams and Keemo Paul picked up 2 wickets each for West Indies.

While chasing, West Indies opener Lendl Simmons was dismissed very cheaply for mere 7. Their wicket-keeper batsman Shai Hope steadied the ship at the one end with a well-made 46-ball 52 with 3 boundaries and a six. However, the lack of support from the other end left his knock in vain. They managed to score 127 runs for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Afghanistan bowler Naveen-ul-Haq bagged 3 wickets while conceding 24 runs in his allotted 4 overs. Along with him, youngster Mujeeb Ur Rahman did a great job as he gave only 9 runs in his 3 overs spell and took one wicket as well. Alongside them, Karim Janat, Gulbadin Naib and Rashid Khan scalped one wicket each, registering a convincing win by 29 runs. With this, they also won the three-match T20I series by 2-1.
