With his almost half a decade worth of experience, legendary interviewer and industry insider, Jim Ross, knows a thing or two about the ins and outs of the business. In his current tenure with AEW, Ross has been working with multiple young talents like Orange Cassidy, MJF, Sammy Guevara, and more.

AEW is merely three years old but has made quite the reputation for its ‘in-house’ talents. In a recent interview with DAZN, Ross said he is happy with AEW when it comes to handling young talents.

However, he raved about one name in particular and even compared him with a legend. The name is none other than MJF! The leader of Pinnacle has caught the eye of Good ol’ JR.

“MJF is a prodigy,” Jim started off. “He’s special. He’s a lot like a young, and I worked with him, a young Paul Heyman. He has a great gift for the English language. He has a heel’s mindset. He’s very clever, very creative. I think he’s as good a talker as there is in pro wrestling right now from my ears. “

Heyman never wrestled in WWE or ECW. He had always been the brain and mouth of the business. Heyman is known for his strategies and his way with the audience. In the wrestling industry, a “Heyman Guy” is bound for success.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman (who is just 25) getting compared to Heyman at such a young age speaks volumes of his talent and credibility. He and the Pinnacle will take on Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle at the upcoming AEW Double or Nothing.

Apart from MJF, Jim Ross showered praise upon Darby Allin

As we mentioned earlier, Jim Ross has a fondness for the young talents of AEW. In his list of potential stars, he has the likes of MJF, Sammy Guevara, Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, Wardlow, and more.

Apart from MJF, Ross called former TNT Champion Darby Allin a “ratings machine.”

“Every time we put Darby in a segment, the ratings either grow or hold steady. We don’t ever see a loss or two now with Darby Allen. I love Darby.”

Darby, when compared to other AEW superstars, is a lot smaller. But he never lets that limit him.

Ross said, “he doesn’t realize his size. He didn’t realize that he’s under 200 pounds. He doesn’t let himself get labeled in that box either. He’s comfortable with who he is. He’s got a unique style.”
