CM Punk stirred the wrestling business when he made his gigantic return to a professional wrestling ring after seven long years of exile from the sport at AEW Rampage last week.
The former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is no exception. The Scottish wrestler thinks CM Punk returning is better for the pro-wrestling business.

Drew McIntyre praises CM Punk on his AEW debut
The sword-bearer recently sat in an interview where he addressed the fact that Punk returned to pro-wrestling and it was on the rival’s promotion. McIntyre had a positive response, where he claimed he liked his [Punk’s] move.
He added wrestling is a much healthier place than it used to be and he acknowledges Punk’s decision to move to AEW.
“If anything, it’s good for wrestling. That’s what I’m all about. I was outside the company between 2014 to 2017, working in the independents and with IMPACT, and just trying to make wrestling a healthier, better place, and it’s healthy right now. It’s an incredible place. Obviously, WWE is still at the top and leading the charge, and anything that can make it better, I’m all about. So, yeah, it makes a positive difference. Since his return, Punk has challenged Darby Allin for a match at AEW All Out PPV in September. However, Punk cut a promo on last night’s AEW Dynamite where he praised Allin’s in-ring abilities.

Eventually, at the end of the day, wrestling fans love to see wrestlers putting over their friends or ex-workers from different promotions; however, there have been many instances where AEW and WWE took shots at each other since Punk debuted.
