CM Punk had a god-collar match with MJF of the AEW Revolution PPV. There he entered the arena in his Ring of Honor (ROH) entrance music, AFI’s Miseria Cantare. Also, his gear was the same as he used to wear during his initial time in ROH. CM Punk had some of the brilliant matches in ROH which are still talked about.

On the 2nd March episode of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan announced he signed the deal to acquire ROH. With this deal, Tony also gained rights on all the match footage of ROH. There are some brilliant matches of CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, etc.

This deal came as a relief moment for ROH fans and also for CM Punk who thinks now his match footage from ROH is in the safe hands of Tony Khan.

CM Punk shoots at WWE 

CM Punk appeared at the AEW Revolution 2022 Post Show to share his views on this new deal of ROH. He spoke regarding WWE while giving his views over it.

Punk said, “I literally feel that my baby is in somebody’s hands that I know will raise the child the right way and do good things with it and it won’t get made into some tab on a shitty confusing app that is hard to navigate and the boys don’t get paid anything off it. The Best in the World directly targeted WWE Network while speaking. He thinks WWE has too many matches of him on their network. Punk is relieved as his matches from his early days are going to be with Tony Khan in AEW in front of him.

CM Punk on Tony Khan’s ROH deal

There was no other wrestler on the AEW roster than CM Punk who is happy with Tony Khan gaining ROH. He had a distinguished career at ROH before signing with WWE. While addressing the deal, Punk showed his happiness for ROH being with AEW now.

Punk said, “It was pretty important. I loved ROH so much. I can’t explain how happy I am that my footage is in good hands. It’s good to know that it’s in the hands of somebody that will treat it well.”

Tony Khan is planning to bring ROH on television as a developmental brand for AEW. ROH legends Bryan Danielson and CM Punk can go back to their previous workplace and have some matches.

Punk is the happiest person after this deal, as he will get to relive the days he used to have matches at ROH as a pro-wrestler.
