Is MJF the new Kevin Owens for Chris Jericho?

Towards the end of his WWE career, Jericho teamed up with KO. After a roller-coaster story that saw Owens betraying his mentor cum best friend, the duo collided at WrestleMania 33.

Similarly, MJF first approached Jericho in order to join the Inner Circle. MJF claimed that he was a longtime fan of Y2J, and their duo would be indomitable.

However, MJF’s actual intention was more sinister than that. He wanted to break apart the friendship of the Inner Circle, starting with the youngest of the bunch, Sammy Guevara.

However, the Inner Circle soon caught up with MJF and confronted him. He finally revealed he tried to sabotage Inner Circle to form a group of his own.

The 25-year-old then came up with his own group, The Pinnacle, which consisted of Wardlow, Shawn Spears, Tully Blanchard, and FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood).

At AEW special ‘Blood and Guts,’ Pinnacle defeated Inner Circle in the eponymous match, with the help of the former’s leader MJF’s manipulation. To have a fair and square chance, Inner Circle asked for a rematch.

Pinnacle chose “stadium stampede” because in the first-ever stadium stampede match, Inner Circle lost to Kenny Omega‘s The Elite. But this time, MJF’s plans failed him completely.
