Jon Moxley rose to worldwide prominence as Dean Ambrose in WWE. However, because of creative differences, he left the company in 2019, similar to what CM Punk did five years ago.
Now, Moxley is working in AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling. Since joining these promotions, he has had tremendous luck and has already won the AEW World Championship and the IWGP United States Championship.
CM Punk, on the other hand, is out of the squared circle since 2014. Although he had a brief stint in UFC, he failed to replicate his WWE success.

When AEW was starting operations, it got some big WWE names on board. After seeing the likes of Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes switching sides, fans thought that Punk would also join the company. Unfortunately, that never happened.
Recently, in a Q&A session, one fan asked Moxley if CM Punk is suitable for the AEW ring. Moxley had an interesting answer to this query, as he said,
“If he wanted to be, that’s still really up to him. This is a place where a lot of people who love to wrestle come to wrestle. This is a great place to be.”
Moxley is probably trying to say that AEW will welcome anyone willing to fight, but the choice ultimately lies with Punk.
Jon Moxley reveals what it’s like to work for all the major companies
As we mentioned earlier, Moxley has wrestled and captured world titles in the top three promotions in the wrestling industry. He believes all the promotions are unique on their own, but AEW is particularly special.
“They’ve all been different and rewarding in different ways. WWE is where you dream to go as a kid, but in AEW it’s a totally different thing, getting to be a part of something that is on its maiden voyage.”
AEW is special to Moxley and others who’ve been with it since its inception, as they are literally building a conglomerate from what was a small idea.

“Before Dynamite started, this was all just an idea. Now it’s arguably the hottest promotion in the world right now,” said the former World Champion.
Reiterating what Moxley said, it is not every day we see a new promotion giving a tough fight to the wrestling giants. Moxley, Jericho, Rhodes, and many people make that happen with their skills inside and outside the ring each week.
