AEW is planning to implode The Elite in 2022

Like every other iconic faction that ever ruled the world of professional wrestling, it must also come to an end. Fans need to be given the time to miss these legendary teams, which only makes their reunion at a later point significantly rewarding. The Elite has been one of the major factions of the young promotion, who has picked up all the major titles in the company.

With the longstanding feud with Hangman Adam Page coming to a close, Kenny needs a new opponent. The Cleaner has already fought who’s who of the division in his impressive 340+ title run as the Champion. It seems like Tony Khan is trying to bring the elite faction down to its knee in the latest episode.

Following the events of Full Gear, Kenny Omega reportedly suffered injuries, which have forced him to take a break. The promotion gave the elite a chance to offer their thoughts about losing all the matches at Full Gear and the current state of the team. In his final message before leaving, a misunderstanding between Kenny and Adam Cole provided a major hint of a possible storyline.

Most fans would not think much of the minor confusion, but given the fact that AEW loves long-term storytelling, this makes it an important promo. Adam Cole could soon find himself at odds with Kenny, and the foundation of this beef would date back to this brilliantly executed promo.
