One of the biggest names in the wrestling industry, Chris Jericho, is spending his leisure time watching UFC. As the entire world was fixated on UFC 264, Chris decided not to miss the fun and tune into watch UFC 264.
The Co-main event of UFC 264 featured Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson locking horns with Gilbert Burns. Chris Jericho, who was vocal about the match via his Tweets, stated that Stephen would be victorious via a knockout. Well, Chris had a particular reason to support Stephen, and it is absolutely interesting.

Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson entered the arena playing the theme music of Tenacious D. The American comedy rock duo’s Wonderboy song was playing when Stephen walked into the octagon.
Chris Jericho, a huge Tenacious D fan, instantly tweeted that Stephen would win the match. Furthermore, he said that anybody using the Tenacious D as theme music would win the match via knockout. This was the specific reason for the Former AEW Champion to take the side of Stephen Thompson to win the match.

Tenacious D is still considered one of the best rock duos that have produced some of the most bizarre and playful songs. Formed by actors Jack Black and Kyle Gass, the pair has its fan base supporting them for more than a decade. Wonderboy was an album released in 2010 by Tenacious D and has earned over 8 million views on YouTube.
Facing criticism
Many have criticized Stefen before for using Wonderboy as his walkout song as it mixes comedy songs and MMA. Yes, there is a correlation between Stephen’s nickname and the song’s name, but there is still a section of fans who aren’t happy about his decision.

But Thompson seems to stick with the song, and he walked out to the same song at UFC 264. However, Stefen lost to Gilbert Burns in a closely fought match.
Chris Jericho, who is also part of a band named Fozzy, has flourished in the music industry. Hence, watching him support Stephen for walking out to a Tenacious D theme music makes sense.

Jericho, who is also gifted with great humor skills, which are clear in his promo skills, could have indirectly shown his appreciation to Stephen for mixing comedy songs in the MMA world.
