“You’re An Overgrown A**Hole!”- AEW Superstar Ridicules NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal

AEW Dynamite featured a blockbuster segment featuring Chief Brand Officer Brandi Rhodes and NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. The segment followed the attack on Rhodes by Shaq’s apparent valet Jade Cargill. Tony Schiavone moderated the sit down segment between two strong personalities with massive egos.

Brandi Rhodes and Shaquille O’Neal settle their differences

“You’re putting all that butter on his toast, but you just had that Chief Brand Officer tag,” rattled Brandi Rhodes. She did not take kindly to Schiavone’s introduction of Shaq.

To be fair, Shaq is a massive cultural icon in America, while Brandi is simply the Chief Brand Officer of AEW. This was a sign of an inflated ego, that had a big part to play in the rest of the segment.

“I’m a fan of Jade, and me and her go back a long way,” said Shaq. He added, “I love her, care about her, and I want to see her doing big things. I didn’t appreciate what she did to your arm though.”

After Rhodes blasted Cargill for berating her husband Cody Rhodes, Cargill attacked Brandi backstage and severely injured her arm.

“I didn’t deserve that. She came into my house and came at my people and my family, and that’s the reaction you’re always gonna get no matter what.”

Brandi then went on to state that she wished that the violence stops for the sake of both Jade and her.

Shaq goes too far; Brandi responds in kind

Schiavone then suggested a settlement between Jade and Brandi on Dynamite, which prompted Shaq to run his mouth about how big of a fan he is of the Rhodes brothers and Dusty. However, Shaq directed a thinly veiled insult at Brandi that she did not take lightly.

“While your arms still in the sling, you should watch Jade. You can probably get some pointers from her.”

This prompted Brandi to lose her patience and throw a cup of water at Shaq’s face, while calling him an overgrown a**hole.

Schiavone stared at Shaq with his hands on his head, while the NBA legend had a look of shock, confusion, and rage drawn on his face.

Will Brandi’s impulsive action spell trouble for her and Cody, or will Shaq let bygones be bygones and stay quiet? The latter seems unlikely, and the former is guaranteed to be a must-watch segment on next week’s Dynamite.
