AEW sees a sharp spike in ratings every time Chris Jericho enters the ring. ‘The Demo God’ works at a level that is difficult to replicate. Turns out that his colleague Sammy Guevara also has an immense amount of respect for his work.

In a recent post on Twitter, Guevara made a bold statement by calling Chris Jericho the greatest of all time, as you can see in the tweet attached below.

Ever since joining AEW, we have seen a reborn version of Y2J. For the last 10 years, Jericho has been in and out of storylines in WWE. Crashing his potential and mic skills, WWE suppressed the biggest heel of the Attitude Era and sent his character to unretrievable depths.

In the new promotion, we have gotten back the old Jericho. His raw potential and mic prowess have been drilled on and he has returned to what he was during the good old days.

Chris Jericho is widely regarded as one of the best performers in professional wrestling history. His flawless promos combined with his excellent knowledge of the sport makes him an asset to any company.

Chris Jericho may not be “The Greatest” wrestler

Although Y2J’s mic skills can be pegged up there with The Rock, Sammy Guevara’s statement is highly debatable. Chris Jericho is definitely ‘one’ of the greatest. But ‘The’ greatest?

The impact that Chris Jericho has made throughout his career in professional wrestling is massive. His rise during the Attitude Era saw him become one of the most hated men on the planet.

This notoriety earned him the recognition of a loudmouth, who surprisingly delivered on his talks. In AEW, Jericho has managed to do the same.

Although he has put on some weight, the charisma is better than ever. He can be considered as one of the greatest in AEW so far. However, to call him the greatest of all time would be unfair to so many others.

Chris Jericho can be placed in that very close inner circle of Superstars who are considered the greatest of all time. However, naming one wrestler as the greatest cannot be justified.

‘The Demo God’ will probably disagree with this and he would be right. When Y2J is in the ring with a mic, at that very moment, there is no greater Superstar than him.
