The wrestling world’s biggest argument and speculation was laid to rest at AEW Revolution. Paul Wight’s new announcement was revealed, and it was none other than WWE legend Christian!

‘Captain Charisma’ (as he was popularly known in WWE), made his debut appearance in AEW after huge speculations leaning towards his signing. He did not say anything but made his presence known to the roster that will undoubtedly have a lot of potential matches for him.

Christian mentioned earlier that he wanted to go out of the business on his own terms. 8 years ago, he was forced into early retirement due to a devastating injury. Since then, he has wanted to make a comeback.

Watching his best friend Edge overcome his own “career-ending” injury and making an explosive return to WWE, Christian got motivated to push the boundaries himself and miraculously got himself cleared to fight again.

The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has made his mind up, and he will end his career on his own terms in AEW. He probably feels that the promotion has a better place for him, and Tony Khan will undoubtedly have a lot of huge matches planned out for him.

WWE may not have given Christian the send-off he wanted

Christian returned to WWE as a wrestler at Royal Rumble last month and reunited with Edge in one of the most heartwarming moments in recent WWE history. Fans expected him to stay and wrestle in the company as he did before, but apparently, it was never to be.

The sad truth is that WWE may not have given Christian the final run he wanted because of a talent-filled roster. There was simply no space for him to emerge as the main card player, let alone a title run.

At most, WWE could have plotted a tag team future with him and Edge, but considering the fact that Edge currently has a solo run for himself, Christian would have to wait.

AEW’s signing of Christian alongside Paul Wight has ensured a main roster for the promotion. Big names have entered the division, and Tony Khan intends on grabbing whatever he can from the open pool.

Apart from Christian, Rob Van Dam, Brock Lesnar, and CM Punk were other names fans highly discussed as the potential singing. However, ‘Captain Charisma’ made the day of wrestling fans and begins the final phase of his career as Christian Cage.
