AEW Superstars paid a special tribute to Brodie Lee by highlighting different parts of his life on the show. One of the most emotional moments came when Erick Rowan showed up to send his close friend a final message.

Rowan showed up to put MJF in his place and save the legacy of Brodie Lee, handing Dark Order another win. He then held up a placard with a heartfelt message as you can see below.

Rowan couldn’t help but break down as he did this and honored his friend one last time on Dynamite. Brodie Lee and he were tag team partners and were known as ‘The Bludgeon Brothers’.

They also worked together as part of the Wyatt Family alongside Bray Wyatt in WWE. They spent a lot of time working together and were big wrestling influences on each other.

Is Erick Rowan All Elite?

The question now is- can Erick Rowan’s appearance on the show be counted as his debut? The appearance would mean that he is no longer under WWE contract since the company does not allow inter-promotional appearances.

Although there has been no official confirmation of Rowan becoming All Elite, we can expect it soon. Then again, it could only be an appearance to pay tribute to Brodie Lee.

Rowan is one of the most underutilized wrestlers in the talent pool. His great height and physique make him a real beast, but he has never reached the potential he is capable of.

In WWE, he was more or less buried after a humiliating loss to The Rock at WrestleMania which was recorded as the fastest ever loss in WWE history. He then fizzled out along with the entire Wyatt family storyline.

Should he sign with AEW, Rowan can breathe new life in the land of opportunity. Since the promotion showed us the brilliance that Brodie Lee is capable of, there’s no reason it can’t do the same with Erick Rowan.
