Miro (formerly known as Rusev) has found success in AEW after being released by WWE. While the “Bulgarian Brute” had a lot in the tank to offer, WWE just simply couldn’t utilize him to the maximum. Now he is tearing it up in All Elite Wrestling as the TNT Champion.

But Miro didn’t reach these heights by playing it safe. He worked hard; throwing punches and receiving some as well. The aggressive Bulgarian has something to say about non-aggressive wrestlers.

Miro doesn’t like playing it safe

In an episode of Busted Open, the ‘Best Man’ has asserted his repulsion for those who put appearances above everything else in the wrestling world.

Miro states that the wrestling world is full of dumb characters and people wanting to be something they are not. According to him, that’s not how this works.

Miro revealed that as wrestlers, they have to be themselves and draw real emotions and kick a**. It’s not some television character, and they have to find it deep inside.

He objects to wrestlers who rather do 650s or 450s and lose instead of just punching someone in the mouth and kicking them in the face as he does.

His words were, “People say ‘characters and gimmicks.’ Yeah, wrestling is full of dumb characters and people that want to be something they are not. That’s not how this works, you have to be you and draw real emotion and kick ass.

“You have to find that within you, it’s not from some television character, you have to find it deep inside. If ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ they say, ‘You’d rather look good and lose,’ that’s what people do.

“They’d rather do 650s or 450s and lose instead of just punching someone in the mouth and kicking them in the face like I do. People see the aggressive side and there is no one as aggressive as I am.” (H/t Inside The Ropes for transcriptions)

Miro’s impressive win at Double or Nothing

The powerful ‘Best Man’ of All Elite Wrestling triumphantly retained his TNT Title in an absolute ace of a clash against Lance Archer at Double Or Nothing.

Surely even the fans know that AEW didn’t go through all the trouble of rebuilding Miro, just to have him bested at the hands of Lance.

The Bulgarian has shown no signs of stopping and is only getting better after each match. His release from WWE was ultimately a blessing in disguise.
