Cody Rhodes is one of the many reasons AEW beat NXT in the ratings war. His TNT Championship reign and his open challenges were excellent, and they really drew in lots of eyes. In an interview with Austen Lane of ESPN690, the former WWE superstar talked about beating his former employer moving to Tuesday nights.
“There was a fun nature to the Wednesday Night Wars that plenty of people took very seriously. But, we’re being honest, and not trying to sound braggadocios, but this is just a run through. We have destroyed them for over a year now in that space. Them leaving, perhaps that opens up a different viewership for us on Wednesdays.”
Cody claimed AEW isn’t reactionary to WWE’s booking at all. Even stated WWE might have Wednesday Night Raw, so moving to Tuesday might not be a surrender, but a sign of things to come. “I’m not assuming moving to Tuesday nights, is a true white flag. I’ll wait and see.”
He praised the positivity in the AEW locker room and mentioned that no one talks about WWE in the AEW locker room.
Is NXT really moving to Tuesday nights?
According to the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast, a very reliable source has informed them that NXT is moving to Tuesday nights. This will be the end of a very entertaining and exciting era, but only if the rumors are true.
This Wednesday, NXT General Manager William Regal has two huge announcements to make. Many speculate that one of the two announcements will be the move to Tuesday nights. The second one is rumored to involve the introduction of a new set of titles in NXT.

We only hope that this move to Tuesday doesn’t lead to a reduction in quality, and neither brand gets lazy without the competition.
