This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite started off with Alex Marvez catching up with Sammy Guevara ahead of the show. During the interview, the ‘Chairman’ Shawn Spears ambushed Guevara with a steel chair. This left Chris Jericho high and dry with Jake Hager as Santana and Ortiz were taken out as well.

In an interview with Alex Marvez later in the show, MJF talked about why he attacked Chris Jericho’s already injured arm last week. He then gloated about Shawn Spears taking out Sammy earlier in the night.

However, MJF added that he couldn’t wrap his head around one thing and that is the backlash he received for attacking Dean Malenko.

MJF said Malenko is old and has health issues. He asked how someone like Malenko could even be a part of something as dangerous as pro wrestling. Just as MJF concluded his statements about Dean Malenko, Chris Jericho and Jake Hager jumped him, Wardlow and Shawn Spears.

Sammy Guevara saves the day for Chris Jericho on AEW Dynamite

Chris Jericho and Jake Hager looked to take control and get retribution. However, the action spilled inside the ring, and the numbers game caught up to them.

MJF pinned down Jericho by the injured arm as Shawn Spears went for a vicious chair shot. Luckily, Sammy Guevara’s music distracted him just as he was about to strike.

The ‘Spanish God‘ quickly ran out to the ring and hit Wardlow with an enzuigiri. He then jumped inside the ring and ducked a chair shot from Spears with a takedown.

He wasted no time as he clubbed Spears with stiff rights and lefts while MJF watched in horror.

Wardlow tried to take out Sammy again, but he hit him with a high knee right on the jaw. Guevara then befriended a steel chair and struck ‘Mr. Mayhem’ first.

He then went to hit MJF, but the latter ducked and got out of the ring. This left Shawn Spears inside the ring. And he, too, ended up with knock-out blows with the chair.

In the end, Sammy Guevara stood tall inside the ring as the crowd chanted his name. He then challenged MJF to a one-on-one match on Wednesday Night Dynamite, saying he will prove why he is the ‘Best Ever.’
