Cody Rhodes took a break after losing to Malakai Black

The last time Rhodes was in AEW, he was in the ring with a debuting Malakai Black.

Black took on The American Nightmare and defeated him. Following the defeat, Rhodes gave a speech and was preparing to take off his boots (a sign of retirement), when Malakai Black appeared from behind and attacked him with a crutch.

This sparked reactions all over the AEW Universe. Even Rhodes’ wife, Brandi Rhodes, expressed her disgust over Black’s behaviour.

One possible reason why Cody Rhodes took a break from AEW was to shoot for a new series, Rhodes To The Top. This series is primarily about The Rhodes’ family. The idea behind the series is to go into the lives of The Rhodes’ and understand how they navigate their lives while building the AEW community.

So, if he comes back, it’ll be one of the best shows for AEW.

Apart from Rhodes’ possible return, the other good things going on at AEW are the debut of Adam Cole, Daniel Bryan, and Ruby Riott (as Ruby Soho). All of these three debuts happened at AEW All Out 2021.
