AEW CEO Tony Khan took a jibe at WWE a few hours back. WWE and AEW don’t leave any chance of taking a shot at each other with both wanting one thing – to be the ultimate pro wrestling company.

This week, NXT and AEW weren’t running on separate days, hence, reigniting the Wednesday Night Wars.

Since the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic, it has been difficult for pro-wrestling companies to earn revenues. While many businesses took different approaches, WWE went the commercials way.

On the latest edition of NXT, there were many staggering matches. Io Shirai took on Shotzi Blackheart, Imperium lost to Breezango for the NXT Tag Team Championship, and Timothy Thatcher and Damien Priest delivered a stellar main event.

Even though there were great matches on NXT, commercial breaks constantly interrupted the show. Tony Khan, as smart as the man is, didn’t leave the chance to take a shot at WWE.

The parking lot fight was the main event on AEW Dynamite. The match between Proud and Powerful and the Best Friends was absolutely world-class.

Tony Khan is the best boss ever, says Jim Ross

A few days back on the Grilling JR podcast, AEW senior adviser and Commentator, “Good Ole’ J.R.,” spoke on various topics. However, the one topic that stood out was Ross’ admiration for boss Tony Khan.

Jim Ross has been in the wrestling business for a humongous 46 years. Hence, his admiration for Khan’s leadership is a testimony to the latter’s abilities.

“I’m enjoying the hell out of my job right now. It’s the best job I’ve had. The best boss I’ve ever had in Tony Khan. The bottom line is, I don’t think Cornette would ever be able to bend his principles and philosophies to make that work.”

Tony Khan and AEW are definitely getting a stronger hold on the Wednesday Night Wars. WWE is trying their best week in and week out to do different and out of box things. However, it is not working out and everything AEW does is turning into gold.
