In 2020, Sammy Guevara landed in hot water after certain insensitive and inflammatory comments towards a fellow wrestler. AEW handed him a temporary suspension, but he stood the chance of being “cancelled” by the internet. Fortunately, his sins were forgiven, and he returned to wrestling soon.
Apparently Sammy posted a very unflattering photo of me.
I’ve reported it.
But I genuinely hope he learns from his actions and doesn’t get cancelled……

On Twitter, without actually mentioning the event, MJF drilled hard enough and found Sammy’s nerve. If getting him kicked out of the Inner Circle and dropping his friend off the top of a steel cage wasn’t enough, MJF got personal. He wrote, “Apparently Sammy posted a very unflattering photo of me. I’ve reported it. But I genuinely hope he learns from his actions and doesn’t get cancelled…… again.”

Describing it as ‘one of the most difficult times of my life’, Sammy Guevara fired back at MJF’s comments. “I like how everyone thinks this is “Good Character Work” meanwhile you are truly a real life piece of sh*t.”

We go back to Full Gear 2020, where Chris Jericho faced MJF in a match where, if Jericho lost, MJF would join the Inner Circle. As one would’ve expected, MJF won and became a part of AEW’s most iconic faction. However, he sowed the seeds of dissension from the beginning.
He befriended Jericho and had Guevara kicked out of the Inner Circle. When he and Jericho lost a tag title opportunity, MJF waited for Jericho to be at his weakest to strike. Well, not weakest, but he surprised him with a devastating attack with help from Wardlow, Shawn Spears, and FTR. They formed AEW’s newest faction, the Pinnacle.
