AEW is all set to have its anniversary on Wednesday Night. The event would mark one full year for the promotion that has risen sharply in 2020. Ahead of the celebrations, Cody Rhodes vowed to make his mark on the event in style.
In a recent post on Twitter, the AEW TNT Champion shared a video, warning challenger Orange Cassidy ahead of their fight on Wednesday. He promised Cassidy that he would see a new world of hurt.
Looking forward to Wednesday’s Anniversary show, and I intend no disrespect…especially considering @orangecassidy was able to hand a legend like Jericho a loss
BUT in @AEW history he has NEVER locked-up. Literally. Never done a collar & elbow
I am going to force him to do so pic.twitter.com/03CALMYbdQ

Cody made a huge return to AEW a couple of weeks ago on Dynamite. He then challenged Brodie Lee to a unique stipulation known as the Dog Collar match. This was only the second of its kind, the first being fought between Roddy Piper and Greg Valentine in 1983.
On Wednesday, he managed to defeat Brodie Lee after a bloody fight and reclaimed the Championship. After being turned inside out by the same opponent a short while ago, Cody was back at the top.
To celebrate the spirit of AEW and the promotion completing a year, Cody decided to throw out an open challenge to any AEW Superstar that wanted a title shot.
Orange Cassidy accepted the challenge of Cody Rhodes
He was willing to put his newly reclaimed title on the line, in the name of competition. Orange Cassidy came out almost immediately to stake hi claim. The sunglasses and denim jacket-wearing Superstar gestured a thumb up sign.
This indicated that he wanted to challenge for the title. Cody gestured a thumbs-up back, accepting the challenge. The stakes were immediately set for the anniversary show, and it looks like AEW has another thrilling encounter ready for us.

However, Cody has seen and been through it all over the years. He has fought in the most brutal matches and endured the most pain. Orange Cassidy may not be prepared to face the man he is so confident about beating.
