On AEW Dynamite, Hikaru Shida faced the Dark Order’s Anna Jay in an AEW Women’s Championship match. The pair had a wonderful match with crisp exchanges and nerve-wracking nearfalls.

Shida managed to put away Anna, even though the Dark Order member brutalized her knee. She used her good knee to deliver a match winning running knee. Unfortunately for Shida, her night wasn’t over yet.

As Shida celebrated up the ramp, Abadon appeared. The creepy wrestler spooked Shida, who dropped the title as she retreated. Abadon picked up the title and licked it in truly gross fashion. This seemed to be a declaration or warning of sorts from Abadon to the champion.

Abadon marks Shida’s title in blood

The AEW Women’s Champion was visibly horrified by what she had just witnessed. AEW’s Twitter described the incident as ‘marked in blood’. If Abadon indeed marked Shida’s title in blood, it is the grossest way to declare yourself as number one contender.

Shida retorted with a hilarious tweet, where she’s recorded cleaning and disinfecting the AEW Women’s Title. She even captioned the tweet, “Aaaand stilllllll!!!!!!! However, my belt was contaminated…..”

Hikaru Shida and Abadon have faced each other before. Shida even holds a victory over Abadon. The duo clashed at AEW Dark in March 2020, days before the global pandemic hit the wrestling industry like a storm.

The AEW Women’s Champion is one of wrestling’s most dominant champions. She won the title from Nyla Rose at Double or Nothing 2020, and her reign has been nothing short of brilliant.

During her reign, Shida has faced the likes of Anna Jay, former NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa at All Out, and even the current NWA Women’s Champion Serena Deeb. She holds victories over Penelope Ford, Big Swole and Diamante.
