Christian Cage surprised the world when he made his AEW debut at Revolution earlier this month. ‘Captain Charisma’ then promised that he will outwork everyone and earn an opportunity for the AEW World Championship. This week, someone Christian is familiar with walked up to him and demanded a match.

Christian Cage to face Frankie Kazarian in AEW in-ring debut

‘Captain Charisma’ was backstage when Dasha Gonzalez caught up with him for an interview. Just before Cage could begin, his long-time rival in TNA, Frankie Kazarian, interrupted him. Kaz said he not only felt great to see Christian but also to see him in his best shape.

Kazarian then paid attention to Christian’s t-shirt that read “Outwork everyone”. Kaz said he’s doing that in AEW since day one. He noted how he is an AEW original and one-half of the first AEW World Tag Team Champions. He then asked Christian to walk the talk before going about asking for world title shots.

Christian thought a little and asked Frankie Kazarian if he was turning into ‘Cranky Frankie.’ Cage added that Kaz doesn’t need to convince him about anything. He said the work begins next week, but also noted he has no opponent yet. Christian Cage asked Kazarian if he’d like to face him next week and Kaz happily obliged!

Kazarian had the last word as he made a cheeky WWE reference asking if Christian was free on Monday Nights. He then recollected that Christian is free on Monday Nights these days, and asked him to tune into AEW Dark: Elevation and check out his match, because seven years is a long hiatus.

Frankie Kazarian indirectly told Christian Cage that he must study his opponent before stepping in the ring with him. Christian hasn’t wrestled in seven years! His last one-on-one match was a Street Fight against Sheamus on Monday Night Raw in 2014.
