AEW brought another exciting edition of Dynamite this week with Fyter Fest Night 2. Last week on Night 1 of Fyter Fest, Jon Moxley successfully defended his IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship against Karl Anderson. Following the match, former champion Lance Archer challenged Mox to a title match this week.
Being the fighter that he is, Moxley accepted Archer’s challenge for a Texas Deathmatch. Mox was confident he could overcome the ‘Murderhawk Monster;’ even claiming Archer would be ‘Texas Dead.’ However, the complete opposite happened in a shocking turn of events!
Lance Archer defeated Jon Moxley to win the IWGP United States Championship in a bloody match in his hometown of Dallas, Texas.

Jon Moxley succumbs to Lance Archer in Texas Deathmatch on AEW Dynamite
Moxley and Archer met in the main event for the title this week and the champion didn’t want to waste any time. He immediately got his hands on Archer as the latter entered the ring. Moxley controlled the early going with action spilling outside the ring.
Outside the ring, Moxley ran through Archer in the barricade and entered the fan seating area. the two traded haymakers in the audience before making their way out to the ring.

As we all know, the only way to win a Texas Deathmatch is by knockout or submission. Basically, the opponent must stay down for a count of 10 for him to be considered knocked out. Both men did everything in their power to put the other down.
First up, Moxley hit a Paradigm Shift on the concrete floor, but Archer somehow made it back to his feet. The finisher on the concrete saw Archer getting busted open and wearing a crimson mask.

Moxley then added salt to the wound by bringing a fork into the fray! He attacked Lance Archer with the fork, causing him to bleed more and become easier to beat. However, the ‘Murderhawk Monster’ is no ordinary man. Blood motivates him and he showed it in the match.

The ‘Deathrider‘ introduced a garbage can in the match. He took the lid and looked to smash it in Archer’s already bleeding head, but the latter countered into a strong right hand through the lid. This caused Mox to start bleeding, but the war ensued.

In the final moments of the match, Moxley set up barbed wire on the tables set up at ringside. He then looked to put Archer through it, but the ‘Monster’ countered and gashed Mox with the fork. Then, he chokeslammed Mox through the barbed wire table at ringside!

The barbed wire pierced through Mox’s skin and got caught in it. The referee counted till 10 and Lancer Archer won his second IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship in ecstatic fashion!
