For the last couple of weeks, the pro wrestling industry is abuzz with rumors aboutthe return of CM Punk. Reports speculated that he and Tony Khan have finally struck a deal and it is only a matter of time till Punk shows up at AEW.

This Friday’s AEW Rampage in Chicago is speculated to host the return of Punk, a Chicago native himself. Ahead of that, this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite (8/18), the authorities seemed to have hinted at the return.

During the show, AEW World Champion, Kenny Omega, and The Elite appeared multiple times. Omega was sporting a ‘Chick Magnet’ t-shirt. The CM in CM Punk’s name stands for chick magnet.

During his trial against WWE Senior Ringside Physician Chris Amaan, Punk revealed the meaning behind the two words. He explained during his backyard wrestling days, he was in a tag team called the ‘Chick Magnets.’

Punk initially did not reveal the name as he wanted the fans to keep speculating. This is not the first time AEW has hinted at Punk’s return. Last week, Omega had a ‘Cookie Monster’ shirt from Sesame Street, Darby Allin said he wanted to fight “The Best in the World,” and MJF cut a promo eerily similar to Punk’s infamous pipe bomb promo.

After this week’s reference on Dynamite, fans are definitely looking forward to Friday’s Rampage even more. CM Punk was last seen inside the squared circle in 2014 when he was with WWE.
