AEW President, Tony Khan took to his Twitter handle and announced that the former AEW World Heavyweight Champion, Jon Moxley, fka Dean Ambrose in WWE has entered alcohol rehab.

Tony Khan broke the news from his Twitter and expressed his gratitude and support for the hardcore superstar for taking this decision at this point in his life.

Many of Jon Moxley’s fellow AEW wrestlers sent messages of support for him, including PowerHouse Hobbs, Danhausen, CASH, and Thunder Rosa.

Moxley was supposed to face Orange Cassidy on the upcoming edition of AEW Dynamite, in the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament. However, no other development has surfaced on how AEW will move forward with Moxley’s absence from the program.

Tony Khan supports this move by Jon Moxley

Earlier today, AEW President posted a series of tweets where he praised Moxley’s decision to work on himself and promises that he will stand next to him and his wife no matter what.

“Jon is making a very brave choice to get help, and we’re embracing his choice and supporting him however we can.” Tony wrote.

Tony confessed it was Moxley that wanted his friends and fans to know that he is entering an inpatient alcohol recovery system where he will be out of action and focus solely on his recovery.

With so much support on his way, it seems like the former AEW World Heavyweight Champion will make his way back inside the squared circle sooner than expected.

The recent GCW Champion’s most recent match came over the weekend as he beat Jimmy Jacobs at Wrestler Revolver’s Tales From The Ring event.

It seemed like AEW had a major move planned for Moxley with this eliminator tournament. However, it looks like AEW will have to adapt to this situation.
