The assumption that a pro-wrestler’s career ends within the squared circle is a myth. They can aspire to become something else in another capacity within the industry. Therefore, when Mark Henry realized he wanted to an office job, he moved on to a company that made it happen.

At AEW Double or Nothing, Mark Henry made his debut as an analyst for the company. They kept his debut a secret from everyone, even the people working at the company. The idea was to let everyone enjoy the moment of joy.

During a session with Busted Open Radio, Henry revealed why he wanted an office job.

“I’ve always wanted to be an executive. I’ve always wanted to get credit for the things that I say and my job depend on how well I do that.

“And as a talent, it’s undeniable, you go in, you have a good match, you have another good match, and you get a string of matches and people grow to know you like that.

“But in the world of being in the office, you know, you got to have pelts on the wall. If you don’t have pelts on the wall, and people tend to go, ‘Well, what is he doing?’

“So you know, I want to show man, I want to I want a room full of like pelts on the wall. Like, you know, Mark Henry did that Mark Henry did that. Like I’m very, I mean, it’s not vain. It’s just I’m ambitious.” H/t Busted Open Radio.

Considering Mark Henry’s history with the industry, he will be a huge success in the company.

Tony Khan and Mark Henry had a brief conversation beforehand

In an interview after AEW Double or Nothing 2021, Tony Khan said he was good friends with the former Superstar. Hence, when he learned that Mark Henry was looking to do something within the industry, he immediately signed on Henry to be a part of AEW.
