He also looked back at some of his legendary storylines and compared them to AEW. “I pride myself on long stories that always have a great payoff,” Jericho said, “Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. As the heel, most of the times, you lose. That’s okay.

“What happens with me is now is…. in WWE you get complacent that people are gonna “book” stories for you. All of my best stuff, I always had a major input in WWE.

“Whether it’d be Shawn Micheals in 2008, Rey Mysterio in 2009, Kevin Owens in 2016, all of those storylines were months and months and months. Now obviously I had inputs and so did the writers. You were working together.”

Then ‘Le Champion’ revealed that AEW has ‘no writers.’ Jericho made his storylines by himself. He loved every aspect of the storyline creation process.

“In AEW, there basically are no writers. It’s up to me and I embraced that.” He revealed that he worked with several talents like Orange Cassidy to make them the ‘next big thing’ like Moxley or Cody.

“Find something we can sink our teeth into, to make Orange as big of a name as Moxley is, as big of a name as Cody is. To an extent, we’ve done that and we’ve done that in front of basically no people.

“Orange is very much the crowd favorite. So, take the crowd away, it makes it a little harder but it’s the cards we’ve been dealt. So I enjoy the long term storytelling, I enjoy the fact that I have major input in it.
