Hall of Famer Mike Tyson has come out of retirement after 15 years to face Roy Jones Jr on November 28. Jones Jr is also a former four-division champion. However, Tyson’s retirement would have ended much before the eight-round exhibition match. Chris Jericho revealed the secret plans recently.

In the latest “Talk is Jericho” podcast (h/t Wrestling Inc), The Demo God sat down with MLW owner Court Bauer and spoke about how he and Tyson were scheduled to have a match in AEW.

Earlier this year, at Double or Nothing, Tyson presented Cody Rhodes with the inaugural TNT title, and the following Wednesday, he confronted Chris Jericho.

Jericho revealed, “Earlier this year when we had the little confrontation with Tyson, which may or may still happen. Who knows, really, but they said, ‘Mike really wants to do something. What would you be up to?’ I said, ‘whatever. Let’s do a match.”‘

Jericho was asked, “You want to do a boxing match? I’ll box Mike Tyson. How bad can I get beat up by Mike Tyson? That’s worse than taking stiff shots from all these guys that I’ve been beaten up by over the years.”

Chris Jericho looked back at Big Show vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Boxing and Sports Entertainment have crossed over before. One notable incident was when WWE Superstar Big Show faced Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Chris Jericho gave some insights to that match as well. “You can hit me, and I’m fine. I’ll be fine, and I remember when Big Show had that with Floyd Mayweather. He told me Mayweather hit him and Mayweather broke his nose. And Show was like, ‘I’ve had my nose broken by less.’”

AEW was not the first time Jericho and Tyson faced each other. They first met in WWE on Monday Night RAW back in 2010, where Tyson would ‘knock out’ Jericho on TV.
