Hikaru Shida deserves much of the credit for the resurgence of the AEW Women’s Division. She held the AEW Women’s Championship title for a long time and during this time, she ensured to promote the women’s division within the young company.
In a recent tweet, she showed that a significant portion of her hair had been chopped off. This is a sign that the AEW star will reveal a new look in the near future.
It’s possible she is working towards a fresh look following her defeat at AEW Double or Nothing against Dr. Britt Baker.

She hasn’t revealed enough details about the new look, except that her caption, “restart”, makes it easy to understand that she’s definitely preparing to star a fresh journey in AEW.
Hikaru Shida needs to bring changes to be at par with Britt Baker
Britt Baker D.M.D ended Shida’s reign as the AEW Women’s Champion at Double or Nothing, marking the end of an era. Not only did she become champion, but also became an instant hit among the fans.
Her rising popularity is helping the women’s division immensely. It’s putting the division on the map and letting AEW create more opportunities for women.
Now that she’s the new champion, she has already claimed that she is the new face of the women’s division and the new face of AEW.
While this is a bold claim, it’s amazing to see that Britt Baker has steadily risen through the ranks and is one of the most popular heels in AEW.
Therefore, Hikaru Shida will need to make changes to ensure her name and popularity remain intact. One of the ways of doing that would be to invent a new Hikaru Shida.
She doesn’t have to change everything, but changing her look is a good step.
We have often seen Superstars adopt fresh looks and gears following huge losses, case in point Bayley.
Losing the title at the hands of Brit Baker could be the motivation behind her changing her looks.
