After parting ways with WWE, speculations about Andrade and where he’d wrestle next took over the wrestling world. Some wanted to see him in AEW while some wanted him to reunite with Rush in ROH.

However, he went south of the border and now has a big money match with none other than the AEW Champion in Kenny Omega.

Kenny Omega won the AAA Mega Championship in 2019 from current AEW superstar Rey Fenix. He defended it against various superstars in AEW and AAA, from Jack Evans to Laredo Kid to Sammy Guevara and even Dragon Lee.

However, at Triplemania XXIX Omega faces his toughest test in what will be the biggest match of 2021. Omega has wrestled Rich Swann in IMPACT and teamed up with KENTA from NJPW, but he now faces former WWE superstar Andrade at AAA’s biggest show of the year.

The former NXT Champion will wait for this opportunity to prove that’s still got it and he’s one of the most talented wrestlers in the world.

This obviously sparks speculation about whether we’d see Andrade in AEW. During his rivalry with Rich Swann, no IMPACT superstar [except for the Good Brothers] showed up in Jacksonville, much to the chagrin of wrestling fans.

However, we saw KENTA walk through the forbidden door to attack Jon Moxley, and we’ve seen the Good Brothers side with the Elite as they completed their heel turns.

Andrade in AEW would be a big slap in the face to Vince McMahon, and he’ll seethe when he sees another talent gained by AEW to bolster their ranks in this latest war between WWE and AEW.

However, pure wrestling fans have one gigantic match to look forward to on August 14th.

If you’re a fan of Kenny Omega, the next few months would have you extremely excited. But if you were Kenny, you’d be a little concerned. Omega has a plethora of big matches coming up that could redefine the pro wrestling landscape this year.

At AEW Double or Nothing, Omega faces Pac and Orange Cassidy in a triple threat match with his AEW World Championship on the line. Not only does Omega have a 33% chance of winning, he could lose his championship without being pinned.
