Cody Rhodes appeared on a rapid fire session with Outside The Ring hosted by Lexy Nair. During this session, the AEW star revealed why he dyed his hair colour from blonde to black.

According to the pro-wrestler, he changed his hair colour in order to align it with the story of a famous Superhero.

“Blondes have more fun, and nobody got it when I dyed my hair black. It was a play on Death of Superman, he had the mullet, he had a change, he had a different outfit — nobody got it.”

When did Cody Rhodes change his hair colour?

The AEW star returned to AEW Dynamite in September with black hair a month after the TNT Championship match against Brodie Lee. The audience realized there was something different about his appearance when the camera focused on him.

The change of hair colour was probably the first sign of a possible new character. In fact, this is probably what he was referring to when he said he dyed his hair as “a play on Death of Superman.

Now, this may have been the original plan. However, in another AEW Dynamite episode, Rhodes clarified that he will not turn over to the dark side with a change in hair colour.

In the promo, he told the audience that no matter what happens, he will stick with them. He will continue performing as the Cody Rhodes he has always been.

This was the episode when Cody Rhodes and Brodie Lee got inside the ring in the ‘Dog Collar Match’ for the TNT Championship. It was a brutal and overall gruesome match. Both of them took the match to the next level, while blood seemed to be the dominant factor.

What is next for the AEW Star?

As of now, it is possible that Cody Rhodes might be a part of a storyline involving the new AEW wrestler, Sting.

In the episode where Sting made his debut, Cody Rhodes and Sting had a conversation. This was about Sting’s future in the company. The Stinger left the ring by leaving ‘The American Nightmare’ with the words “see you around, kid.”
