This week on AEW Dynamite (8/18), fans saw the culmination of the five Labours of Jericho. Chris Jericho fought MJF in the Chapter 5 Final on the main event where he was not allowed to use his finisher The Judas Effect.
Ahead of the match, Jericho claimed that he would emerge victorious after taking weeks of punishment. The ‘Le Champion‘ previously defeated Shawn Spears, Juventus Guerrera, Nick Gage, and Wardlow under unique stipulations to get to the final chapter with MJF.
As a result of the stipulation, Jericho could not use his finisher and could not come out to his ‘Judas’ theme song. However, the AEW crowd sang the theme for Jericho as the veteran smiled and clapped in appreciation.

Both men then started fighting as MJF started mimicking various moves of Jericho. He gave the camera the finger, while Jericho tried to hit MJF with it. ‘The Salt of the Earth’ targeted Jericho’s injured elbow.
Jericho hit double sledge and Lionsault from the top rope. MJF attempted the Fujiwara armbar but Jericho reversed it into the Walls of Jericho. MJF broke out and hit a pendulum piledriver.

MJF then hit a low-blow kick followed by the Walls of Jericho. However, Jericho broke the hold as he held on to the ropes. This prompted MJF to slyly use his Dynamite Diamond Ring.
Thankfully, referee Aubrey Edwards saw it and took it away. Jericho used his baseball bat on MJF and almost hit the Judas Effect but paused at the last moment.
