Chris Jericho is arguably the GOAT of professional wrestling. The man has had success with every gimmick he has undertaken for over three decades now. Jericho is one pillar of AEW; his shift from WWE to AEW brought a lot of eyeballs. During his time in AEW, he already has made a mark for himself as he was the inaugural AEW World Champion.

He has also put a lot of wrestlers over and given them a solid push. However, his biggest nemesis has been MJF, a hurdle whom he can’t seem to overcome. Why is MJF the biggest issue Chris has faced till now? One of the biggest reasons seems to be that MJF is quite like a young Jericho. Jericho made waves not only as a wrestler but also for being smart. He in his early days showed a knack for presentation and psychology. Something MJF too has perfected. Jericho is hell-bent on passing this hurdle and announced that if he doesn’t beat MJF at All Out on September 5th, might as well retire, or leave AEW. This is a scary proposition for the fans; a person who is so over that every time he comes out to the arena, the fans sing along to his theme.

MJF can add another feather in his cap if he retires Chris. AEW has shown in the past that swerves can happen. Cody going into his match put a stipulation that he won’t be able to contend for the AEW championship if he loses. Many people assumed the EVP of course wouldn’t lose. Cody lost, so the match certainly has built intrigue that Chris might actually lose.

MJF, after penetrating the Inner Circle, turned on them. Being thrown off a cage, Jericho injured his arm. Before that, MJF had Sammy Guevara leave the group. This leads to a very intriguing match at All Out 2021.
