After his release from WWE, Andrade shocked the world yesterday. In a video package during the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide’s Rey de Reyes show, the former NXT Champion challenged AAA Mega Champion Kenny Omega at the upcoming TripleMania.
Omega is currently a triple champion. Apart from the AAA Mega Championship, Omega also holds the AEW World title and Impact World title.
Apart from Omega, Andrade also named Psycho Clown as a potential opponent.

Following the challenge of Andrade, Omega took to Twitter to respond. The cleaner shared the challenge video and reminded everyone how busy he is, but he will think about it. Omega wrote, “I’m a busy guy, give me some time to think about it.”

Indeed, Kenny Omega has been appearing in AEW, Impact, and AAA as their World Champion. Omega won the Mega Championship back in 2019 as he defeated Ray Fenix. At TripleMania XXVIII on December 12, 2020, he successfully retained the championship against Laredo Kid.
Recently, “The Cleaner” won the Impact World Championship at the Impact Rebellion PPV against Rich Swann. Omega will probably respond to Andrade a few weeks before TripleMania.
Andrade debuts on AAA merely a month after WWE release, challenged Kenny Omega
When he left WWE earlier this year, Andrade told the fans that he does not have the standard 90-Day non-compete clause from WWE. Merely 40 days after his release, Andrade debuted in AAA with a vignette.
In the three-minute Spanish video, Andrade revealed his goals. Then, he challenged Psycho Clown and Omega for the upcoming TripleMania XXIX this summer. You can check the video below –

For those who don’t know, TripleMania is AAA’s biggest event of the year. Rumors say it will take place in August or September this year, with fans in attendance.
Before WWE, Andrade was the star of Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). During his eight-year-long stint with CMLL, Andrade (then known as La Sombra), was a triple crown champion.
Ironically, CMLL is the arch-rival of AAA. Fans are waiting to see whether the former CMLL star headlines AAA’s biggest show or not. If Andrade actually wrestles Omega, there is also a chance that we might see El Idolo in AEW.
