An announcement at the Tokyo Games Show 2020 suggests that fans will have to wait longer for a new title in the Yakuza series.
Ayana Tsubaki posted an update on Twitter, indicating that a new title was in development. More importantly, she indicated that the new title would be revealed at the Tokyo Games Show this year. However, she took the post off immediately. But it was enough to send the community into a state of frenzy.
Most fans believed that it was leaked and was to be a show-stopper at the event and was hence deleted. But Ayana Tsubaki put an end to all this tittle-tattle and accepted that she misunderstood the chain of events.

New Yakuza title to take more time before hitting the stores
Ayana Tsubaki is a co-host of SegaNama and claimed that she misunderstood the description of the event. The event ends on Sunday and will feature a new piece of information on the much-awaited title. But we’re probably months away from getting a date of release.
There is yet another justifying the delay in a new title would need more time. Yakuza: Like a Dragon has been available in Japan since January on PS4 but is coming to the US on November 10. The game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
