Numerous records are being surpassed in the current season of the NBA. One such record with a 14-year streak came to an end today. A humongous crowd of 68,323 fans witnessed today’s match-up between the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors, breaking the record for the largest crowd in NBA history. Previously, the record was held by Chicago Bulls vs Atlanta Haws in 1998 hosted at Georgia Dome, which had a crowd of 62,046 fans. It has taken 14 years to break this NBA record.

Though it was a huge night for the Spurs nation and its fans, the Golden State Warriors went on to upset the celebration.?

The Warriors and team ruin a big night of the San Antonio Spurs

Jordan Poole and Donte DiVincenzo of the Warriors shined in their huge victory against the Spurs. Jordan Poole put up 25 points and 6 assists leading the score sheet for the Warriors. Tre Jones’s 21 points were not enough for the Spurs to get their historic win.?

It was a legendary night for the fans with former Spurs stars back on the court to witness the historic event. Spurs legends Tony Parker, Sean Elliott, Avery Johnson, and David Robinson were in attendance. Legendary NBA coach Gregg Popovich shared a few words about the crazy night. The night started with an eye-pleasing gesture from the fans, who waved their phones with flashlights on.

Legendary Head Coach of the Spurs Gregg Popovich loved the fans’ excitement for the historic game. He told in the post-game interview,?“It was great. The fans seem to enjoy themselves. They seemed to have a hell of a time”. He mentioned?“There must have been a lot of beers out there”?joking in the post-game press conference. The veteran coach continued to credit the Warriors for the win. He mentioned,?“That’s why they are the champs. They showed us they are really good with their experience”.

The Spurs continue to move downhill

The Spurs continue their losing streak as they stand 14th in the Western Conference, having one of the worst seasons. In addition to today’s 144-113 loss, the Spurs might not even make it to the play-in tournament with the increasing competition in the west. They currently have a record of 2-8 in the last 10 games. With the continuing degrading performance, fans are expecting the organization to make additions before the trade deadline.?
