Raheem Sterling is on his way to Manchester City for 49 million GBP. Sterling was signed by Liverpool as a 15-year-old from QPR in February 2010 and the Loftus Road club will receive 20% of any fee the Reds get for the forward.
Sterling had already asked to leave Anfield and was the subject of two bids from City in June, which were rejected. He will be the second most expensive British player after Bale.
Here is a list of potential replacements for the controversial ex-Red:

#5 Denis Cheryshev.
Real Madrid have reportedly received a bid of £22m from Liverpool for winger Denis Cheryshev.
The 24-year-old Russian winger spent the season on loan at Villarreal from Real Madrid, where he scored 4 times and created 9 assists in 18 starts.
The winger has less chances of making into Madrid’s playing eleven. It looks like Rafa will cash in for the winger
#4 Max Meyer
German U21 Max Meyer is easily one of the most exciting youngsters playing right now, he has excellent pace with the ball and has brilliant dribbling skills. Meyer is compared to likes of Mario Gotze.
The Schalke man is under contract at the club until 2018, but the club may be tempted to part ways with their prodigious talent should an interested club lodge an offer they can’t refuse. He has abundance of potential and is available for 10M and could turn out to be a great transfer .
#3 Pedro
Barcelona forward Pedro signed a contract last summer but the Spaniard admits it is a ‘delicate situation’ – having lost his first team place. Pedro has all the attributes and experience to succeed in the Premier League and help push Liverpool into the next level.
Reports from Spain suggest that they are willing to let him leave. A bid around £26-30 million should do it, which will leave some money in the bank for a striker. He has clearly lost his first team place but is deadly from flanks and could be a great addition to any team. Chelsea are confident that they have convinced the player but last minutes hitches could still happen.
#2 Theo WalcottWalcott has just over a year left on his current Gunners deal has emerged as a potential replacement for Sterling. Liverpool had also enquired about Walcott’s availability back in January 2013, before he signed his current Arsenal contract. He might not have a creative mindset but surely has frightening pace and goalscoring prowess which have produced an appreciable record of 38 goals and 29 assists in 119 Premier League appearances since 2010. His transfer can be triggered with a bid of 25 to 30m
#1 Marco Reus

Liverpool will look to replace the outgoing Raheem Sterling by making a sensational £46m offer to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus. Englishman Sterling is set to undergo a medical with Manchester City on Monday ahead of his £49M move away from Anfield. Being linked with Liverpool on few previous past occasions this move can possibly happen, however no official offer has yet been lodged as Liverpool still wait on the completion of the Sterling deal.
Reus has been linked with a move to the Premier League repeatedly over several past transfer windows, though he agreed to sign a new contract with Dortmund earlier this year. Reus doesn’t do a lot of dribbling, has a great vison, sublime goal scoring ability and off the ball runs are excellent. Nice and simple, yet very effective.
