NASCAR and Formula One are pretty much on opposite ends of the scale. However, there have been occasions when the two have met. One such occasion was when NASCAR driver Boris Said rubbed shoulders with none other than Michael Schumacher. At that time, Said rocked a massive head of thick curly hair, that many fans loved. In fact, Dale Earnhardt Jr somehow managed to unearth a picture of the two together.

There’s three legends in that pic. Michael Schumacher, Boris Said, and Boris’s hair.

Naturally, many fans were thrilled to see the NASCAR fan favorite and the F1 living legend together. Many acknowledged Schumacher as one of the greatest drivers, along with the likes of Dale Sr and Richard Petty. Some were a little envious that these two legendary drivers met and very few knew about it.

Of course, there were a few others who cracked jokes about not ‘recognizing’ Schumacher. Nevertheless, the general consensus was that both drivers were legends in their own right. Another fan compared Said’s messy curls to Corey LaJoie.
What did Boris Said tell Dale Earnhardt Jr about the encounter?
He revealed, “I’m sitting in the garage area, you know the Formula One garage in the pit lane. I’m just sitting there on a milk crate, no one is speaking English and I’m just kind of talking to myself the whole time. I notice this crowd of people, like if you [Dale Earnhardt Jr] was at the race track, storming like this, following somebody. One mechanic goes, ‘Oh! Schumacher’s here’. Michael Schumacher was here because his brother Ralf Schumacher was racing in the Formula Car Series. So he was there to watch his brother. I got to meet him, like this little private meeting and it was a pretty cool thing.”
Lol, for a second, I thought that was Boris and Bob Tasca from NHRA

According to Said, Schumacher was ‘super nice’ and polite. The best part was that he spoke in English, but it was a short meeting. Regardless, it left a massive impact on Boris Said. So much so, that he still considers him the greatest driver.
