When you think of the greatest performances by a minnow side in World Cup history, you ought to mention about Kenya. Kenya reached the semifinals of the 2003 World Cup by defeating teams like Sri Lanka and New Zealand (walkover). Due to some security reasons, New Zealand preferred not to go to Kenya for their match against the host nation. Sri Lanka, however, opted to play at that venue and how much they would have regretted that decision. Batting first, Kenya posted 210 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their quota of 50 overs. In reply Sri Lanka would have never thought of a collapse. Although, credit must be given to the Kenyan Bowlers, especially Obuya who took a 5 wicket haul. A special mention goes for the way they fielded. Be it ground fielding, or catching, they were right on the mark in all departments of the game. And the result was, Sri Lanka lost by 53 runs.

Match Scores: Kenya 210-9 (KO Otieno 60) in 50 overs beat Sri Lanka 157-10 (de Silva 41; Obuya 5-24) by 53 runs.
